Mine was clocked to 580/760 MHz (512 MB version, driver 9.9). Played NFS Shift for 15 minutes then the screen went blank.

Could it be because the VRAM is overheating?

could be. but to ensure if it is, run the game along with gpu monitoring tool. (e.g: hwmonitor, lavalys everest etc.)

if you feel that the heat vent very hot, it might overheat.. but best measure is with temp reader like i mention above.

folks ,I've made a post in here:
    http://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=130309.0

there's pretty much all you need...

I'm yet to update the shots, but I've run mine up to 675mhz core / 850mhz mem
    thus far no problems

let me know if you encounter any issues!

Well, I think its the same chip, same implementation, same MXM board, same thing mate.

...but, its your choice, take it or leave it.

guys, using riva tuner makes the card unstable even at 575/700mhz.but i used techpowerup gpu tool and got up tp 633/815mhz.runs nfs shift,gta4,street fighter 4 without a hitch, farcry 2 is the only game that crashes after some time.but reducing the clocks to 625/800 solves that problem too.

by the way my machine is a sony fw45gj and i am using catalyst 9.10(modded).catalyst 9.10 unlocked several resolutions including 1280.768,800.420 and some others.so generally people having sony vaio fw will have to tun their 3dmark06 at 1280.720.but i had to run it at 1280.768.my score are 7513

    Hay dudes...

Personally on my sony-fw51mf_h i just followed the instructions here:

    http://twisted-reviews.com/overclocking-ati-mobility-radeon-hd4570-hd4650-hd4670/

and had overclock from it's base value of 450/600 to 564/750 using rivatuner on windows 7 (64bit) and it hit a temp of 52 cent... never had BSOD playing crysis or anything like that, however i've never taken it above 564/750

Does anyone know how much more it can take and still funtion well?

I think I got it stable at 550/800. For some reason it crashes at 600/800. It also still crashes in Mass Effect (with no overclock) but I think that's the game fault. I'm gonna get a cooling pad and try to push it a little further.

long time no more posts. :( anyone's here??
My FW520 (ATI4650 512MB, Catalyst 10.10) has stable clock at only 480/680 (play COD6, NFS Carbon, Shift, Red alert 3... w/o crashes in medium settings)
All higher clocks cause system crash...
I used GPU-Z to log temperature: VRAM temp. was around 60-63 deg C, GPU's highest temp. was 67 deg C.
Anybody explain this for me, plz?? :(

Huh, I wish I could overclock mine... Some games (like some Source-based ones and Batman: AA) freeze my whole computer when I'm using Sony's stock clocks. When I underclock both core and VRAM by 50MHz, everything runs fine. What's worse: it doesn't even overheat when using stock clocks!

I've already tested it: I ran FurMark, Prime95 and HDTach at the same time and it stood up nicely (at Sony's stock clocks).

Does anyone know what the heck is this? Thank you!
