I have read many contradicting reports, so i want to clear this up.

I am going to get the Sony Vaio FW series with blu-ray.
I have a 2003 Sony RPTV, model kp-46wt510, with DVI port. Obviously this TV is too old to be HDCP compliant.
HOWEVER, I am not planning on using the TV as an extended display, just cloning the laptop main display onto the Tv screen like I already do with my desktop with DVI video card. I want to do this same setup with the laptop but the question is- will I be able to play my blu-ray DVD's or will I get the copyright protection screen?
I have a HDMI to DVI cable, and I am going to use the headphone jack for sound (mini-jack to RCA black/red)

just wanted to update in case anyone else had the same question.
I did NOT get the copyright screen, it worked perfectly!
When I plugged in the HDMI, the computer asked me if i wanted to clone desktops, use extended display, or use external display only. i chose the last option- external display only. the screen on the laptop turned off and now the tv only showed my desktop. popped in my blu-ray disk (batman begins) and it came up on the tv and looked great.
    i am happy!

You will not get the Copyright screen if you choose to output to the external display only. If you choose clone desktop you will get the copyright screen even if your TV is HDCP compliant.
