    Hi,
So I tried doing a clean install for my friend's Vaio VGN-FW463J/T. I left the hidden Sony recovery partition intact just in case something went wrong. I used a retail Vista x64 sp1 disk and installed it just fine. Then I started installing the drivers, but some of them wouldn't install. The Sony Shared Library starts to install, but then just disappears and doesn't say that it finished installing. The Sony notebook utilities doesn't install because I can't get Shared Library to install. A prompt says that it only works on vista, a message which causes me great confusion. But I can get the Sony Firmware Extension Parser Device Driver to install correctly. The problem is that the fn keys don't work.

And the Intel SATA Driver Registry Patch doesn't install. I think it's because I don't have the original drivers installed, or is this it? I'm missing something huge, aren't I? Please help.

Order is important for the drivers to work properly.
all other drivers (Coolguy gave you the link), the last three in this specific order:
    1. Firmware Parser
    2. Sony Shared Library
    3. Notebook Control and Utilities.
Should get your function keys working for you. If you have already tried the notebook control and utilities, you may need to uninstall the Vaio Control software to re-load it again.

I know where to get the drivers....
I'll try installing them in that order.
    Thanks
