Is there a way to do a fresh install from a restore disk with none of the bloatware? And then just install all the drivers? Whats the pros and cons of doing this? Thanks for your help.

I didn't receive the original Sony restore disk, so can't comment on that but the restore disks I received from Geek Squad (since I purchased from Best Buy) do not have an option to reinstall without the bloatware. I tried it after replacing my hard drive with an SSD, but didn't any such option.

I also tried installing the Home Premium from an OEM disk but couldn't activate online with the key at the bottom of the laptop. Finally went back to Geek Squad's disks and later removed those crapware manually.

thanks for the reply. I know some people have installed a clean copy of windows 7 from a upgrade disk but wanted to know if it was capable from a restore disk.
