Anyone managed to connect an external display via HDMI-DVI cable? I tried it with Gateway 24'' (DVI) and well.. it's possible to get the 1900x1200 resolution but colors are wrong - too much pink and it's impossible to change that.![]()

Btw. It doesn't work even with my 19' LCD display so I'm pretty sure it's something with HDMI in my 8400m. :/

I connected my vaio FZ to Gateway monitor using HDMI-HDMI cable and HDMI-DVI adapter. I was mirroring the screen, so I guess it was showing the same resolution 1280x800, I don't know if you can increase it, since it depends on the graphics card in the laptop.

You should be able to - look for additional drivers. I have a Samsung 19" 1440 x 900 LCD and I am connected with a HDMI to DVI cable and it works great. I did install the Samsung drivers for it - not sure if it mattered, but I wanted to make sure I had the best quality. Now my 8400GT is about 3 degrees hotter when I run it, but heck, I have a 2yr warranty!

Newest drivers from laptopvideo2go did the job.
