My notebooks LCD back light flickers about 2 seconds every couple of minutes. How can I fix this?

I also noticed that my notebook does not close firmly and it is loosely closed yet slightly open!!!!!

    Please Help.......

Sony vaio FZ is not that sturdy. Even mine has one side of the lid slightly left open after closing the lid. Mine flickers at start up but not every couple of minutes. Check the display settings. What graphics card do you have?
