I have just bought a new Sony Vaio FZ18L. I think its great but there are 3 things I don't like:
1) is all the junk that comes pre installed
2) the recovery partition cannot be removed losing about 10G of my hard drive
3) windows vista - it annoys me that just because Microsoft decide it I have to change the way I work (and cant run some expensive software!).
I would like to perform a clean install of windows XP. I did this with my last Vaio and had no problems however there do not appear to be any XP drivers available for download from the Sony website for the FZ18L can anyone tell me if it is possible to perform a complete XP clean install and get all the system features running correctly (graphics, audio, webcam, card readers, media player buttons etc....)
Can I install the Vaio utilities, such as the power manger etc...?
Will install XP have any effect on the way the dual core processor works in this application? Will I still get the benefit of its maximum performance?
Any info greatly appreciated!

Use the search box at the top of each page here (do NOT use either of the two search drop down boxes). Search for "FZ XP" without the quotes. You will find multiple threads with info about this question.
