Hi,
Last week I bought an FZ180e sony vaio laptop from The Sony Store for about $2199 CDN, it seemed to be a nice deal until today I saw another laptop, this time Toshiba Sattelite A200-AH7 with almost the same specs (2.0 Ghz core Due and 2 gig ram) for about $899.
The specs page for both laptops are here;
For Toshiba:

For Sony:

I'm wondering if it is better that I return the Sony and buy the toshiba...
I would like to know which one you recommend... both moneywise and qualitywise...
Thanks alot!
P.s---> FOr those who don't know Fz180e has blue ray and HDMI port...

First off, the sony has a processor thats two generations newer than the one on the toshiba. What are your uses, have u filled the faq? I think you need to do some additional research before your decision. Please fill the faq and i can help u out. Qualitywise, the sony is gonna be a tad higher, ask yourself if u really need the bluray. I would only get it as an option if you're going to use the hdmi to connect it to your hd tv. otherwise, save the 500 dollars and buy a normal fz.

What good does it do to post this in the Sony subforum? That's like going to McDonalds and asking them which is better: BigMac or Whopper.

I thought this website was not related to any company...

Well, I just ordered an FZ 190 Sony and I was also looking closely at the Toshibas. I have heard good things about both and felt they were pretty close. Sony did have the newer processor but the Toshy was about $150 less similarly equipped. The better processor and Blu tooth support sealed it for the Sony along with a slightly better graphics card, at least I think.
Still, nothing wrong with the Toshy..... I just liked the FZ better overall. I should have it in a week or so and I'll post my findings. -
hmmm...
True... yet the model I mentioned is about 1000 bucks less... Although it's processor is very older. My big concern though is that my Fz180e does not have that much of battery life.. only 2.5 hours if I run microsoft word only... with Wireless turned off... So I'm wondering whether toshiba is the same? I also heard Sony does not have a 12 cell battery for the fz right?
because I'm sure toshiba has...(don't know whether the above model has is specifically)... -
Any Other suggerstions?
