So I have everything working almost like XP - got the S buttons to work by downloading VaioActionSetup app from EU - it only lets me launch shortcuts though, no mute, hibernate, fan control or anything else but whatever.
VAIO power management from EU added a few things so that was good.
Also the EU Lan Switching Utility WORKS! So I can turn off BT and only have Wifi on.
Only thing remaining is the HDD protection...I've tried a few times to install the HDD driver from EU and it just tells me to reboot but no confirmation whether it worked or not. However, after I try to install the HDD application from EU it says it's not available or installed on my laptop.
Any help getting that to work?

Got the S buttons working properly with SonySettingsSeries or something from EU.
Only thing outstanding is the HDD protection. -
If the HDD protection driver is not installed, does that mean that HDD protection is disabled?
I though HDD protection was a hardware feature? -
On my machine he HDD protection works fine - i've installed the driver and after reboot the hdd tool, which i can start in the vaio control center.

Can you post the link to the software (driver and app) you installed? Also what model of VAIO do you have?
