I've always been a bit disappointed with the dimness of my ASUS W2v. I've considered getting an AR390 or similar, but I have always been unsatisfied with the build quality of Sony's 17 inch notebooks. For me the screen is the most important thing followed by weight since I travel a lot. Would a Sony screen blow me away compared the ASUS? It's not always easy to tell just by looking at one a Best Buy, for example.

On that note, would I be crazy to walk into Best Buy with my W2 for the purpose of comparing the quality of the screen? Perhaps I should just go ahead and tattoo NERD on my forehead before I walk in.

Hehe sure why not :) Just take your laptop bag or rucksack with you, and when you're standing in front of the pc's take it out and see the difference :)
