I am about to upgrade my laptop HD from 320GB 5.4k RPM to either 500GB 7,2K RPM or 750GB 5,4K RPM.
Which one do you think I should get?
Will 7200RPM will give noticeable different in speed compare to 5400RPM ?
How much in % do I get improvement in speed?
Help me decide and thank you.

I would go with the 7,200 rpm hard drive. I can't give you % improvement, but I can say from experience its much faster, and yes its noticeable. Unless you need the 750 for storage I would go for the 500.

What ever size you get, 7200rpm is the speed you want to get, and whilst I couldn't give you a percentage, you will notice your system is a little snappier.

7200RPM is definitely faster, but the larger the hard drive you buy, the more "searching" it needs to do for files, so it's relative when it becomes fragmented and starts to degrade over time.
I find the 320GB 7200RPM drive in my S series to be very fast. -
baibaiman: I saw on another thread that you upgraded your laptop from the 5400 RPM drive to a Seagate 7200 RPM and you were happy about it. I have two questions: a) what about the noise level? Did you notice any increase in the level of noise? It's hardly noticeable with the 5400 so I just want to check with you what your perception is. b) What about battery performance? Did you notice any degradation in battery time? Thanks.
Sony Laptop is better with 500GB 7,2K RPM or 750GB 5,4K RPM?
