    Hi all

I have a friend who is selling a Sony Vaio X which is in good working condition in terms of hardware but is not great condition mechanically. The Top case would need replacing and possibly the bottom magnesium housing with also the plastic that you rest your palms on.

Would it be worth purchasing to repair? or will sony take the pee with prices?

    anyone have experience like this?

    thanks all

First, there are 2 VAIO X series. X505 was released around 2004 and VPCX was released around 2010 I guess.
Parts for these laptop are hard to find and it would cost you a lot if you go Sony way.
However, these laptop are very old and slow, even though they are all real ultra portable
