    Hello guys

I am looking for a cheap laptop under 800$ for basic computing and I found on bb this Sony VGN-NR430E. Can anyone comment on this laptop?

I need for word, excel, music, video and surfing. I read somewhere that the battery lasts at least 3 hours. is it true?

it is not a core 2...so...share your thoughts please...

Well, to buy a computer for 800 bucks thats around 2 generations old is a very poor decision. For 800 bucks, I suggest waiting a couple of weeks and/or preordering a sony vaio CS or NS. They are both going for around 800 bucks give or take(depending on features) and they are the current generation core 2 duo machines.

1000? To surf the web and watch movies? No way dude, you can def find something for your price range by sony... just wait a bit for the new CS and NS to come out, 1000 bucks is the high end of those.
