I have a Sony VGN-NW270F eqipped with Optiarc BD-ROM BC-5500S4 Combo drive that can read Blu-ray disks and read/write DVDs. This was working fine so far (almost 2 years), but has recently stopped reading blu-ray disks. All other formats (like, CDs, DVDs etc.) are working perfectly. When I put in the blu-ray disks that used to work fine on this drive earlier, I get a message "Insert a disk in drive". I can hear a small sound of reading arm moving when I close the drive, but then no spinning sound afterwards (when I put in a blu-ray disc).
I have put in all the available updates (from both Sony and Microsoft) including firmware updates for the drive - but no change. Contacted tech support at Sony, and got no meaningful help with this either. Requesting your opinion.

Do we not have anyone who has faced a similar issue or has an idea about this?
