What is the creme de la creme in Sony notebooks that are gaming capable? Gaming for me are Strat games, Starcraft 2, maybe Crysis....

I want something solid, and at least midrange with respect to gaming. I don't care how much it costs.

thanks...I haven't checked Sony in a long long time and F series, CW, etc are confusing and I need to get up to speed quickly. Quality is paramount.

You can't really go past the EB series for gaming, as it will be the fastest Sony gaming laptop (if you get the 5650 graphics). If you need portability then the Z. If you need screen quality and don't mind a bit of heft, then the F. If you want something that is still quite portable and doesn't cost the world, then the CW.

    Hows that?

The 330 is a very good card, and you have to remember the Z is 1.4kgs. The F has the same graphics card.

The EB is only newly announced, and is focused toward the more budget end. It has gotten decent reviews though (and that is with the i3 Processor and 5470 graphics card). I am hoping for a slight better spec'ed CTO model (better screen).

You will have to go through the Z discussion in this thread. The TRIM component is thoroughly discussed.

IDK? Considering the price of the Z with the new Quad SSD option... with the price of the other components factored in, the SSD's they use have to be pretty cheap. I can almost guarantee they won't be Intel X-series or the Vertex drives. And with 4 SSD's the chances of at least one of them failing are kinda high. But then I guess thats why there's 4 of 'em.

laptopinc in the US have told me they will offer a 5650 when the EB is officially released in the coming month. So ultimately, no it doesn't as yet, but it will soon.
