My g/f laptop started to display some funky colors patterns like the computer was on acid about 6 months ago.

Totally out of the blue (although she has dropped it a few times before)

She found out that she could fix the problem by tilting the screen; it was kinda annoying but she lived with it.

However the problem kept on getting worse and worse, to the point now that she has keep hold of the screen at one specific angle to get it to work.

Could this be the screen inverter or possibly the lcd wires? I opened her laptop up and couldnt find anything obvious.

I'm thinking about changing the screen or the inverter perhaps. Is it worth it? or Is it just better to buy another laptop?

    Thanks all!

Shouldn't be inverter. more than likely the signal wires and/or connector.

inverter would cause backlight to cut in and out...which it's not doing. It's going to be bad signal wire or perhaps a connecter is not seated properly. Only way to tell for sure is to rip is all apart.
