Hi all,
So I've had my Sony Vaio PCG-7D2L for two years along with the Verizon Broadband Access service and it's all been great. There's nothing like pulling the car to the side of the road wherever I am and having fast internet access.
But in the past few months, I've been having increasing problems where after I connect through Verizon's VZAccess Manager, I can't get a page to load on Firefox or IE. I frequently would have to disconnect then reconnect, or restart the computer just to get a page to load after connecting to the Verizon network. Finally frustrated, uninstalled the program and card, reinstalled and still no luck. So I called tech support last week, they ran me through a bunch of procedures to check settings, test the connection, etc. but to no avail.
In fact, after speaking to them, I couldn't load any pages at all! They told me I needed a new card, so I bought one and the problem remained. I wasn't going to pay for a new card for nothing, so I returned it and have reverted to my old, previously semi-functioning PC 5740 card.
I remain able to connect to Verizon's network and in fact, can ping a regular site like Yahoo.com and get a reply through the command prompt, but cannot get any pages to load on either browser.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? Any conflicts with Sony VAIOs and Verizon's network? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
