All of a sudden my PCG-7Z1L will not show anything on the screen. When I boot I see the windows logo and scrolling green bar but when the desktop should be showing all I see is my cursor on a backlight screen. I can move the cursor and when I insert a CD I see hard drive activity. Could I have lost a video driver or something?

    Any help is appreciated.

I forgot to mention the Os is Vista home Premium. It can't even see anything in safe mode.

So far, no help on this site. FYI the model # of mine is vgn-nr160e. I'm going to assume that this site is more discussion then problem solving. Good luck.

Have you tried plugging in a external monitor? If same thing happens on external monitor then its your video card (motherboard). If it doesn't happen on ext monitor then its either inverter or backlight. THat repair will cost ya.
