I have an a/v output on the side of this notebook. Can I play DVD out to TV, does this single cable carry video and audio, or is audio gonna come from the notebook.

I just have a couple of great flicks on HD and do not want to bother converting to svcd, and would like to watch on larger screen than the lappy

If it is indeed an AUDIO/video port, it will carry audio as well, your notebook should have come with some sort of adapter for this purpose. (Usually a minijack plug (1/8") that splits into RCA cables (the yellow, white, and red plugs you see on your VCR or TV). If it is just regular RCA or S-Video out, then it will only transfer the video portion and the audio would have to come elsewhere (probably from your notebook).

Yes it is a A/V line however my notebook never came with the cable or jack so I will have to obtain this. Thanks for the feedback
