I just performed a system recovery to put the system back to "from the factory" status. It has Windows XP Home Edition. I installed SP2 and all updates (excluding IE 7).

The camera is not working. Nothing is obstructing it. The built in utility only takes pure white stills and video captures. Drivers are installed, and I reinstalled them with what Sony had on their site. The camera was working perfectly just yesterday before the restore.

I don't quite get it - "takes white stills"? Do you mean just a blank screen then?

It's possible that CCD of the camera has gone bad. I had the exact same problem with my TR3. Since it's quite expensive to replace the camera, I would recommend to get the external webcam.
