Am I able to replace the 10.6" WXGA XBrite screen with any screen of the same size? Or do I have to specifically use the Sharp model number it came with? I cannot bear to spend $500+ on a screen, when I can get a new laptop for that much. I also do not want to get rid of this laptop, if avoidable. And help would be appreciated.

These are some of the other 10.6" WXGA screens I have come across:

    FUJITSU P/N CP164385-01 COMPATIBLE 10.6" WXGA LCD
Averatec AV1050-EB1 10.6" WXGA HIGH GLOSS LCD
Averatec AV1050-ED1 10.6" WXGA HIGH GLOSS LCD
Averatec AV1050-EU1 10.6" WXGA HIGH GLOSS LCD
Averatec AV1150-EW1 10.6" WXGA HIGH GLOSS LCD
Averatec 1100 10.6" WXGA HIGH GLOSS
    Averatec 1000 AV1050-ED1 10.6" WXGA
Samsung 10.6 WXGA LCD screen panel LTN106W2-L01
    LTN106W2-L01 COMPATIBLE 10.6" WXGA
    LTN106W1-L01 COMPATIBLE 10.6" WXGA

I am pretty sure you have to go with same screen. Other models and brands might have different connectors. Check eBay. You should be able to find one at reasonable price from reputable seller.
