So with best buy selling the low end model for $1699.99 I'm curious if there is a resource for purchasing z series parts like the 1920 x 1080 screen from the international versions (or the $4500 US version). Even if it's a $400 service part it's still worth it.

I'd have no problem replacing the screen and likely able to see the 1600x900 on ebay for some cash. I just haven't seen a place for Sony parts.

Can anyone help with a source and or a part number for the higher res screen?

Thanks man. Any idea on where to get the part number of the internals? I downloaded a couple assembly guides but they are visual rather than part # oriented.

You can search for the VAIO Z model number, VPCZ11FHX/XQ, which comes with the 1920x1080 screen. :) However, given the fact that it is so new that even people on order for this particular model have not received their orders as of today, I think it is probably going to be at least 1-2 months before that spare part is available in the Sony Parts department. :)

Happy waiting & good luck. :)

Yea, good luck with that... My CW model has been out since last fall and I still can't find any spare parts for it except for a replacement Spanish keyboard. I wanted to swap my motherboard for a GT230m equipped one, but I gave up on that about 2 months ago.
