    I really need help,

I am in need of completely formatting my computer, it has loads of junk on it and really just needs a complete clean out as it is extrmeely slow and no matter what i seem to do it won't impove it.

I can only really get into Widows Vista via "Safe Mode" and when I go to Sony Recovery Centre to try to completely format the computer it asks me for a Recovery Disc.

Is this something that should have come with the computer or do I need to create the recovery disc first, and then use that.

Any help would be really appreciated, as I'm off on hols tomorrow and need it fixed by then.

    Thanks,
    Rich

You have to create THEM. There will be more than one DVD needed when you create these. The Recovery center will let you create them.

However there is another way to accomplish this. Power off, power back on and then hot the F10 key. This will cause the BIOS to boot from the hidden system recovery partition.

So does that do the exact same thing? And at the same time install vista?

Also when creating a recovery disc does it have to be a DVD? Or can it simply be a cd-r?

Final question... Do you need a recovery disc to boot when doing it in the bios re F10?

Thanks for coming back to back dude!

It does exactly the same thing. I both cases it will return your system to it's original out of the box state. YOU WILL LOOSE ALL APPLICATIONS AND DATA YOU HAVE INSTALLED OR CREATED!!!!!

It MUST be DVD's. CD-r will not work.

The F10 trick requires nothing except the hidden recovery partition that is on your hard drive.
