Hi Darkdream,
no it's not possible to upgrade the video card/controller in the Sony notebooks...as is he case with about 98% of notebooks on the market.

You can get the S360 (w/ MR 9700 64MB) here in Canada for $2899.
Go check it out at sonystyle.ca

Watch for the S360. It's running for $1650 in the US. It's an upgraded one that has the MR9700 already built in.

Wow why is there such a huge price difference in US compared to Canada
-
uh... after you do the currency conversion it's not that much of a difference. And 1650 is like after multiple rebates.
-
where can u get it for $1650?
-
Its a big difference.... The thing is Canada never gets any rebates..... well not that i see anyways....
1650*1.21=1996.5(Exchange rate)
1996.5*1.07= 2136.26 (GST)
Compared to 2899.00 without GST i'd say i saved almost 1000 dollars -

The difference between the two countries is not that great.
1650 USD = 2046 CND
If a Canadian were to say buy online from the US it would cost him/her $2046 CND aslo on top of this is both the canadian equivelent of Both federal and state taxes and well and customs duties, this adds from 15-18% to the purchase price. This is still a few hundred or more Canadian saved; but this is not the whole picture. I say this because Canada and much of the whole world outside of the US requires manufacturers to provide much better warranties than the US. Typically at least 2 years or more. Here in the US corporate lobbyists have bought their way into changing the laws here to better suit the manufacturer than the consumer.
