    Hi,

I've had my Vaio S15 for a few months, and a few weeks ago noticed two large white dots on the screen. They're always the same size and in the same place.
I thought they were marks from pressure on the back of the screen, but my roommate, who has the same model, has the same problem (similar size & shape dots in the centre of the screen). They also appeared about the same amount of time after he bought his laptop as mine did. I've also seen a few people posting here and elsewhere with the same issue.

I'm taking it to a Sony repair centre soon, but am wondering if this is an issue with the S15 screens. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks!

They do indeed look like pressure points.

I had the same problem on a S15 few weeks after new, Sony refused to repair under guarantee, saying it was accidental damage. The pressure points correspond to the Vaio logo on the other side of the panel. No excessive pressure was applied, just travelling in a padded bag inside a backpack, nothing extraordinary. Fortunately I bought it at a Microsoft Store with full coverage for 3 years (including accidental), so I can get the display swapped when I can't stand these white dots anymore. It still think Sony position is lame, the fact that it appears at the logo position in my case is very suspicious of design issue.

I have the exact same issue with my Sony Vaio S15. There are other posts on forums with the exact same problem - where it appears to be related to the sony vaio logo on the back of the laptop.

I suggest we use this place to start collecting information related to this issue, so what is an obvious design fault will get dealt with by Sony. I have attached a photo of my screen... IMG_20131214_111455.jpg IMG_20131214_111455.jpg
