I just bought the Sony Viao S260p from Office Depot. The notebook is great. The fan is quiet. One thing i noticed was that the battery (standard) rattles a little. Is this just on my computer or is this a problem series wide? Also, has anyone figured a way to stop this?

Funny, that's one thing I complain about the V505EC that I just bought. Will be interesting to hear if anyone comes across any kind of fix - it might help me with my V505. It isn't a big deal, but just one of those things you'd like to have be not any kind of issue at all.

Yeah, I have noticed the same the thing. The battery is exactly a tight fit. Detracts from the astetic apeal of this laptop.

Maybe you could put some adhesive foam inside of the battery cavitey to make things a little tighter?

My sister's VAIO S did that too. I have read complaints about this on other forums as well. The solution was to just fold up a bit of paper and stick it underneath the battery. Simplistic, but works like a charm.

Have a 505SX from 1999 that does the same thing. My solution was to cut a couple square of 3M microfoam surgical tape and stick it on the battery. Works perfectly, and won't slide out like paper (and stays with the battery when you take it out).
