Can someone who owns a Sony S560 (or 580) go into the device manage and tell me who makes the PCMCIA controller. There are some incompatibilities with the Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook sound cards and some controllers.

No.. I would be interested in your experiences with the device.

Have you hooked up the Audigy to your amplifier or home cinema system? Are there noticeable differences before and after? Does the digital 5.1 output work good?

I followed up with an answer to my own question just in case someone else wanted to know. It's called "being a good member of an online community". You should try it sometime...

The Audigy works in advanced mode, and there is no clicking or any other audio problems. Excellent surround effect in headphones, but it's best to use a decent pair of cans.

The only thing I've tried so far is headphones, and the sound is very good! It has an optical in and out, but you have to buy the cable separate.

The only issue I had was getting a BSOD if I eject the Audigy without shutting it down, and I just downloaded and installed a driver update that's suppose to fix that problem. I haven't tested it yet though.

hmmm, I also purchased this card, and have the same BSOD problem. Even with both the latest or beta driver.
I tried the "safely remove hardware" thing, but it rarely works. It keeps telling that the device cannot be stopped. Even when I have to "right click", then open the hardware removal window, and had to manually click the "stop" button. But it RAREly works. I love the card, but it's kind of annoying not being able to remove the card.

the original purpose of this thread was for you to learn whether or not the soundcard worked fine with your laptop, you probably already bought the card when you posted this so yes it truely becomes pointless,

i love it when people have all these questions about stuff when they already made a purchase :)

and i am the most evil member of notebookreview.com, doesn't everyone know that?

well i'm not as evil as that 64bit guy, but that isn't even a person, that is a program designed to give economical advantages to certain companies and organizations, an entirely seperate entity that acts on it's own free will.
