Just purchased a Sony Ready Ship VPCSA2CFX/SI. Within 2 minutes of having it on, the fans started running non stop. I ran every Windows update, every Sony update and looked for bios updates...nothing. Switched to Stamina mode, it helped but still sounds like a jet plan.

Other comments which I'm sure everyone has mentioned, the laptop suffers from the floppy LCD, lose AC adaptor port and horrible display and trackpad.

How can Sony sell a laptop like this? I also love the sticker on the bottom that says do not place the laptop on your skin.

Dude man you got me all excited with your title by using "SZ". I'm thinking SZ's are still for sale, where...I want one...one of the best laptops Sony has ever made :)

So that you dont ter the wire by simply tugging at it in another direction..it should rotate to desired direction.

as long as electrical contacts are kept, there's no reason a plug should fit 'tightly' in a jack :)

^The jack itself is mounted with "play". Keeps it from cracking when the cable is yanked at awkward angles.

Also, if you uninstall the sony PMZ.PMB whatever it's called, and it's related background services, the CPU use drops off, and the fan can actually.... turn off  while the computer is idle.

It's Picture Motion Browser, Sony's own Video/Pictures/Music Gallery software.
It's probably scanning for new content on your laptop and probably indexing it.

If you don't use it often, than it's probably recommended to kill that service.

SA quality is poor. My speakers stopped working after 3 weeks....took 3 times for Sony to fix it (2 on site repairs and finally shipping it in). I am past the 30 day return period so I have had to file a dispute with my cc to return the laptop.

You dont have to uninstall PMB. just turn off contennt analysis services which actually does the continuous scanning of all media on the laptop. (admittedly useful for people who want such a feature, though).

The above is true and has been like that on many Vaio models (including my S11)! Before calling something a bug, ask yourself ("or is it really"!?).

Wow 2 mins and no effort to resolve a few minor quibles which could probably be resolved with just a tiny bit of effort. It's not a can opener it's a PC, they need a little bit of fishing to get them to run at you desired level.

Those are just the typical Apple users - no clue, no effort - it just needs to have a HD-camera (teenage dream) and be idiot proof!
    No one can help those...
