    Hello,
I just got a Sony VPCSA23gx/bl I got it with the intent of replacing the 128gb SSD with a 256GB SSD I already own (given other threads I foolishly thought it was a standard 2.5" drive)

Now that I opened it up I realized that the drive is actually a mSATA drive.. The cable, and the housing are not compatible with my standard SATA 2.5" drive.

I have two chooses and I would like help with partnumbers for either option

    1) Get the 2.5" SATA harddrive cable and drive housing parts (as described in the drive replacement document http://www.docs.sony.com/release/989202617_VPCSB_series_HDD_CRU.pdf)

    2) Get the part numbers for all the parts I would need to add a second 128GB (cable, drive, etc..)

That, or if the community can point me to a good parts site that would be great as well.

    Thanks!
    Josh

What about getting a caddy for a second SSD?

I too am interested in doing the same thing, the 1.8" ssd caddy has space for another Sony 1.8" SSD which occasionally pop up on ebay but the mSata ribbon only has a single connector so my guess would be that there is a different mSata ribbon that has a second mSata connector for the the 2nd 1.8" SSD. I did email Sony UK but they were useless telling me that they were not sales, they didn't seem interested in offering me an upgrade. Does anyone have a Raid 0 SSD configuration Sony SA/SB laptop? or has the 2.5" HDD configuration and can tell us what the part number is for the caddy and ribbon? Thanks.

already ordered, but I would prefer to have my SATA 3 256GB SSD as my primary drive or run raid 0 as my primary drive for speed reasons.

    Thanks for the suggestion..

So ya, like the mrchum mentioned, any SA owners with SATA or dualMSATA that can share their part numbers?

    Thanks!
