    Hey all,

I got my vaio SE laptop today. Its the i5 2.2 500GB 4GB 512MB Win 64 model if that helps.

Anyway, Im having an issue with the sleep and hibernation modes. When I turn on either of them the screen turns off, but the keyboard is still backlit, the powerbutton glows and I can hear the drive spinning; which to me all point to it not sleeping/hibernating. The other issue is that I can't wake it up or take it out of hibernation mode which only leaves turning it off forcefully.

Has anyone else has this problem as well or does anyone know how to fix it?

    Thanks!

Update all your drivers including the bios firmware from Sony's website if you haven't already done so.

I'm having a similar problem but it seems a bit more extreme, i.e. I can't even shut down even if I try through the BIOS. Obviously it's not a driver issue, but may I ask what fixed the problem for you? Was it a driver or BIOS?
