Hey, I am about to buy either the Sony SR or the LG P300, but before I do so, I need to know the battery life of Sony SR.

With the integrated video card 4500HD, what battery life can I expect from the Sony SR? Shouldn't it be pretty high? Like 5-6 hours?

    Thanks

This is what i have gathered from reading user posts that own the above laptop.

With 30% brightness with 100% battery charge, wifi on and BT of in power saver mode with Aero on expect about 4 hours 30-50 mins battery life.

This is with the standard battery 6 cell battery which is rated at 4800mAh.

Yes, and I have the extended which gets me 6 hours on those settings exactly. Expect about 7 hours+ if you have wifi off, brightness to 0 or 10%, silent mode (which reduces CPU energy usage) in vaio control center

Just out of curiosity, when you're on those settings, what is the estimated time remaining? Because mine never says over 3 hours, but after two hours of use it was saying 2 hours remaining, and I'm curious if others have the same experience.

I've got a question about the battery. Since it is so expensive, I am very careful with the battery. I read something about that if the battery is 100% and you still leave it on the charger the battery quality will go down quickly. Is this true? and how should you threat your battery to keep it in a good condition?

i've heard people getting 5 hours from the standard battery

Yeah, if you are using the laptop for extended periods (more than 2 hours) when the battery is fully charged, you should unplug the AC adapter from your notebook. This can not only prevent overheating, it also helps to keep the battery in optimum condition as it allows cyclical charging and discharging of the cells.

doesnt the battery care function make it better with it stop charging at 80%? or is it still a bad idea to leave it in tehre for long time?
