    Sony SR in EU

    Hi there.

    I have now decided to go with a SR, but there is a problem with this. I would very much like the laptop in "Nightblack" but it seems totally unavailable in EU, in that color. Particularly in Germany, because I have searched mostly on German websites.

    Could anybody help me find a SR in the "Nightblack" version within Europe?

    I would appreciate it! :)

    I actually got the same problem. I'm still not sure if I want to get the SR or the CS. But they are both so hard to find in europe/Netherlands. I want the black SR too and also the cheaper 'x' model, can't afford the 'v' :p
    At sonystyle netherlands there was just an update wit the CS, but it's just pre-order, shipping mid-october -.-''
    The SR is available, but only the silver one ...

    I really don't understand why it is so hard to get a vaio ...

    most of the time I don't have the money to buy a product, but in this case I have the money and the product is not available ...

    PS: Why is the CS 100 euro more expensive in the NL :(

    No black SR in germany! :( Too bad, black looks so much better then silver..

    I thought about it a lot and I'm getting the SR. It's a little bit over my budget but I really want a light laptop because I carry it around all the time. So that's why the CS is no more option.

    The problem is now that the SR is not available at sonystyle.nl
    I've searched for some dutch online shops and they have the silver one for around 1450 euro's.

    Does anyone know if the black model will ever be available in europe? And I saw an other thread with new models of the sr, the sr200 series. Is it worth to wait for this new series?

    Sony SR21 and SR29 models have been announced and should be available soon.

    I don't think a black version will be available. But Sony's ways are mysterious.

    hmm ok, have to get the silver one then I guess. Anyone know what the specs of SR21 and SR29 are? what is different compared to the sr19?

    I see the price of the SR21 is much lower in Germany than in the netherlands 0_0 only 1236 euro! If I order it from Germany do I still have the guarantee? And do I have to pay import cost? or is that only outside of europe? I've never ordered something from an other country.

    The new price of SR21 may be an indicator of dutch prices too.

    Prices in Germany and Holland are very similar usually.

    (No import tax but german keyboards.)

    PS. I would think SR21 has Intel X4500 and not HD3470.

    I think they made a mistake with VGNSR21M/S. Judging by the price of 1236 euros I'm expecting it to be a Intel integrated graphics. Not sure though.

    There also is a german OS installed. Unless there is vista unlimited, fow which you can download language patch, but sony software/utils remain german.

    The serialnumber at the bottom can be used to install Windows in your own language.

    I decided,finally, to go for SR29 model. It looks really super. Silver and cheaper as ever.
    Colours are really good and silver is not so agressive color like black. :)

    I'm looking for the support here. It costs only 1299 Euro.

    No, it's not Intel. I have exactly this model and it has discrete ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphics.
    I have also paid the same price (1250 Euros, bought in Germany).

    Strangely, Sony Style Europe does not offer 2nd generation SR models with Intel integrated graphics any more
    (I tried to get one shortly after they announced them last October, but they told me they are going to withdraw
    them from the market, and in fact they did).

    I need to correct myself, and be more precise. The model with Intel graphics (SR29XN/S) has only been withdrawn from the German market.
    However, it IS offered in the Netherlands (I just checked both SonyStyle Germany and Netherlands) ...

    What kind of strange policy is that?
