    Hello all,

I'm requesting help concerning my Sony SZ 650 laptop I just bought recently.

Every time I open the laptop, I get a "WARNING" message telling me that my battery might be either not installed correctly or incompatible with the Laptop... The only option I have at that point is to press "OK" and it goes in sleep mode.

Anyone know what to do when this happens? It's the original battery, I've tried removing it and putting it back inside a few times and it still doesn't fix the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Forgot to add, Battery model is: VGP-BPS10

Is it a compatibility issue or a problem with the laptop?

I bought the Laptop off someone, so although I know it's a Sony battery I'm not sure if it's the original one that came with the SZ650

If it's just a problem with the battery, are there better batteries out there for this laptop model?

not sure about SZ batteries but...
you can disable the ISB at startup via msconfig, this should solve your problem.

I had the exact same problem with the same model, the thing is that this problem appeared with a clean Vista install, i then rolled back to the preconfigured setup from recovery partion, and the problem never happened again... Strange...

Wow, well that's exactly what happened, before the clean Vista install I didn't have that problem.

Anyways, I'll try what the above poster said, thanks.

Hmm, I just did that and it looks like it fixed the problem. Any downside of turning off that ISB thing? What's ISB exactly?

    Thanks a lot

If that works with no side effect at all maybe I'll consider to do a clean install too...
But I dont know if it worth it... I mean skipping the software installation process during the windows recovery leaves you with a perfectly clean OS with all the drivers loaded... (the few exceptions are Naster and some very few other things, takes 10mn to get ride of)
