    Hello all,

I've purchased a Sony SZ 650 N recently, about 1 month ago, I burned some CDs today, and then upgraded my RAM from 2gb to 4gb, right after that, I got problems with my DvD drive

Under device manager, here's what I see :

    Driver details are : IDE\CDROMMAT****A_DVD-RAM_UJ-852S________________1.01____\5&456436A&0&0.0.0

I doubt it's a Driver problem, it just looks like suddenly my computer can't detect my DvD drive anymore, which is really weird considering it was working fine just before I did the memory upgrade

I tried putting back the old RAM, same problem. Troubleshoot also can't help me with this issue.

Also, the DvD drive is not completely dead, because it still opens/closes, and I can hear the CD/DVD turn if I put a CD inside, and the light works also.

If anyone on these forums could help me, it'd be greatly appreciated, I'm getting desperate :(

    Thanks a lot

Don't be, it's just a ****ty registry problem, you'll need to delete a key in the registry and all will be working fine, don't worry :)
Let me remember the key and I'll post back!

Thank you so much! My TZ just arrived today and I've been worrying if it was a hardware issue. Cheers buddy! :)
