Is the Antenna on the side of the SZ removable?

Also is it only there for WAN or is there for the WiFi also?

The sz680 is the customizable one right?

I think the antenna is for the WAN option.

The antenna is for WWAN only....so if it has WWAN, it will have antenna....and I have previously read on this forum that they are removable.

I thought the antenna is only on models which have, or are configured to have Sprint's WWAN. The 3-inch or so plastic covered antenna is on the right hand side of the laptop above the ethernet/modem. Its easily removable...just unsnap or snap it in.

I dont know if it also can be used to get Wifi though.

The TZ I think has the WWAN built in. Sz doesnt have this option yet.

i have my antenna removed (model sz660n/c), looks no different and its more convenient since i don't use wwan just yet,

i supposed if u really cared, obviously there is a small hole on the side after u remove it. (on ones without a wwan or just on the left side of ones that have it, it will have that silver cap over the hole - and you get the cap from sony i believe)

What is the WWAN adapter anyhow, is it Edge or HSDPA or something else?

It's $80 more for the 660 vs the 650 and maybe in the future I might find it useful.

On the SZ600 series, the WWAN is Sprint EVDO.

Hmm, I think I'll just go with the 650, don't really need the WWAN.

Thanks for the photo. I hope it applies for VGN-SZ780 Premium as well.

Is it possible to remove RAMs easily and put some other 3rd party RAMs? Because Sony is crazy enough to charge you additional $150 and $300 for 3Gb and 4GB RAMs? VGN-SZ780 Premium (cust)

    Cheers :)

Upgrading the Ram on the SZ is real easy. There are some guides if you search on google.

I also upgraded the HDD to a 7200rpm drive and what a difference that makes to the system. Easy to do also.
