my battery will not charge, it is all they way in and the computer says it is charging, but it stays at 0% and the computer turns off if i switch to battery power. Is there somthing i have to do to get the battery to charge or is it dead forever?

Hm, my sister had a simular problem with her Dell B130, the battery just die. Thankfully, the battery has 1 yr warrenty.

Did you try removing and replacing it back? And is the battery too warm?

Exactly like my issue. I called Sony UK support and told them that brand new battery died after 4 months. Mine was not even recognized at all, although one time I had the same thing as you have - it appeared in Power meter, but stayed at 0% forever.

After the support guy consulted with higher authorities, he said they will send a replacement if I send them the old battery back. Apparently "there are suspected issues with batteries on SZ series" and they are doing this exchange for anyone that calls in. I guess they want to investigate each battery.

This happened to my firiend's SZ110 too after 6 months since he purchased. I am a fan of Sony, so I am so sad to see Vaio brand is getting worse today! :(

I have a rather different problem. I have a Vaio SZ160P with docking station that I've owned for a year now. Just within the last couple of days, when I plug my laptop into the docking station, my AC Power/Battery indicator blinks rapidly and won't start up or recover from hibernation. All it takes to fix this is to disconnect the laptop from the docking station and plug it back in. This has fixed the problem every time so far, but I'm concerned that the battery indicator blinking might be a sign of problems to come. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
