    Can anyone explain?

Is Santa Rosa both 'Centrino Pro' and 'Centrino Duo'? I'm confused and want to make sure I buy (or wait and buy) the latest version. I notice that SZ laptops have 'Centrino Duo' stickers on them, but they've been out for a while, right? I'm starting to wonder if I'm waiting for new technology that isn't relevant to me (I'm not a business user, I just want max battery life for my buck - and it seems that's Centrino Duo?)
    thanks.

Santa Rosa comes in both Centrino Duo as well as Centrino Pro. The pro is more aimed at business and so includes gigabit ethernet and some other security features. Basically a Centrino Pro is just a Centrino Duo with some extra features aimed at business users. If you dont need them then the Duo is as much as the latest technology as the Pro.

The best way to identify a Santa Rosa based system is to look at the cpu model numbers, if it is an odd number series as in T7100/T7300 etc then it is based on the newest Santa Rosa platform.
