I'm new to the forum but am in desperate need of some help. I work full time and go to school full time so my time to sit down with tech support is rather slim.

    I just purchased a new Sansa e280R mp3 player.
I currently own a Sony SZ laptop and for some reason when I plug the device in via plug and play- it attempts to install the device and then it can't find recommended drivers after searching the internet, and then doesn't finish installing.

I take the player down stairs on a desktop that's probably 8 years old and as soon as you plug it in- it finds the hardware, installs it, and it's ready to use. (How things usually are on my laptop!) I've called Sansa tech support but they won't speak to me about it anymore, they say it's a Sony problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? I don't understand how my ipod nano works via plug and play but the sansa doesn't.

    Thanks! David :D

No suggestions? Device manager shows no problems with the USB hubs themselves. I have no idea what to do. Ugh.
