The paint on the casing is rubbing off on the front of the SZ. To be precise, on the bottom left corners of palm rest where one's forearms would rest when typing.

Can anybody suggest a way of touching up these cares with the right paint!?

OMG, this looks bad. zii, do you happen to use a case ? and if so, which case is this ? It is probably rushing the corners everytime you pull it out/inside.

Its a nice vaio case. The rubbing is caused by my hand resting on the corner whilst I type. Yes, its a P/C

Hilo, to be precise. Well, in fact today I'm in Chile ... but I travel far too often between the two places. We have offices in both.

Zii, I'd recommend not to perform any touch up paint. It won't properly stick to the surface. If you want to repaint it, take the whole case off and ask professional painter to paint it. Otherwise, it looks ok to me just the way it is. That way, you can always be happy everytime you see the wear. Because that's the sign that you really use your notebook :p

I always fear this. This is why I never rest my palms anywhere when typing.

BTw, post up more pics of your lappie, it looks real sexy.

Man! I wish I got the premium carbon now (>_>)~sniff. I love functional art.

Nice pics zii, by the way, you might need to change the soil in that plant. There's salt build up on the inner rim of it's pot (^_~).

Do you ever use that card reader?

no. Felica is pretty much useless outside of Asia. Maybe they'll have the good sence to use it somewhere else.

    HI,
I don't have this problem, but I did notice that some of the letters on my keyboard are slowly starting to wear off.
I called up Sony and they said that my keyboard was covered under the one year limited warranty and I could send it out to them if I wanted it replaced. I told them it was not too bad yet, but if it got worse, I would eventually do it.

HOw about just calling Sony and finding out if they will replace those pieces for you before you get someone to paint it?
