    Hi,
I've installed and fully configured Gentoo Linux distro on my Sony Sz. There's only a thing in which i'm interested but i wasn't able to configure: G-sensor shock hdd protection.
Was anyone able to read this sensor with Linux? I've found several docs for configuring the HDAPS of the ibm thinkpads but nothing about the similar chip of my sony.
Every kind of help will be appreciated,
    thanks

that's also the same problem with me. thinkpads are a lot more common hardware. vaios are like PITAs to set up in linux. i'm still stuck with the brightness issue on fedora. (SZ6)
please let me know when you manage to set up the HDD protection on linux and i'll do the same.

    cheerz!
