This is not a consistent problem, but the resolution is-- power down.

Sometimes my system will just stop recognizing CTRL-ALT-DEL.

When that occurs, if I swipe my finger and choose lock, that'll lock the machine.

I can either swipe at this point, or C-A-D to enter my password, and I'm back to the desktop.

Now... when I try to lock via C-A-D again or a swipe, I get a blank screen with a working mouse cursor.

No way out. I have to power down.

I suspect it's something to do with the fingerprint software, but I don't want to uninstall it-- it's great.

I have followed all the procedures to do a clean XP install. All my drivers work. I fixed the shutdown problem based on the advice here, and there are no other problems I'm experiencing.

    Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Sorry if this was mentioned before, but I didn't see it mentioned in my cursory search of this forum.

I just tried it out on my SZ and I don't have any issues. You may have a software conflict.
