I installed Vista Buisness the other day on my Sony SZ120P and today randomly my DVD-RW drive was showing up as a CD-ROM drive. In the Device Manager apparently there is something wrong with the driver. I tried uninstalling the device and restarting the computer but it did not help. Now my drive does not show up in My Computer at all.
BTW, I did installed an update to PowerISO the same day. I uninstalled the program and it did not fix the problem. I have been using PowerISO for a while before this without any problems when I was running XP and had no problems running it on Vista...
Other than that problem; the SZ seems to be running Vistafine (Function keys, fingerprint scanner, touchpad, etc. all working fine).![]()

Have you check Sony's site for an update for the DVD drive? Mine read just fine...I think Vista as the right drivers for it anyway. Try uninstalling it from your Device Manager...and then reboot the computer and let Vista load it's drivers for it.

I could not find any drivers for it on the Sony website. I tried to do the firmware upgrade but it would not work. I have tried uninstalling the drive from the device manager and restarting.
