My SZ370P has a dvd tray problem that I bought from Comp USA with their service plan. While playing a dvd or audio cd, I hear a vibratation sound every 10 to 15 seconds from the dvd tray. What is causing this problem? I have no time to get it repaired, since I need this laptop for my business trip this coming week. This is my second sz370p. The first one had a loud buzzing sound coming from the left side of the keyboard. I wonder what Comp USA will do when I ask for another sz370? It might be difficult to do another exchange since I got the last sz370p from their inventory and it might be a problem for me to get a refund since my I used my Comp USA credit card on the first SZ370P and a store credit on second sz370p.

The best solution for me right now is to have SZ370p dvd tray replaced at CompUSA when I arrive home from my business trip that I will be taking this week, since I bought their service plan and I want to take advantage of it. Other than this problem I have with it, the SZ370P runs like a champ.

I purchased the same computer from CompUSA with a replacement plan as a replacement for a bad SZ-260. CompUSA gave me no problems. As for your tray, I think what CompUSA would do is to send it to Sony as the computer is still within its manufacturer's warranty. That process takes up to ten days and you could do it yourself. Now, none of that does you any good as you are using the computer for business this week. I am sure that you have tried all of the standard troubleshooting, ensuring the disk is put in flat and seated properly etc. I have used my DVD player quite a bit and have not heard what you ae referring to though the tray seems flimsy. Good luck. I would though inform CompUSA now rather than waiting as you will want to establish a record of the complaint before the completion of yor three week return period. (My 260 died on a business trip east)

You may want to try a different DVD and see if you have the same problem instead of replacing the whole laptop and discovering the same problem with the same DVD. Some disks, though it is rare, can be unbalanced and cause vibration while spinning.
