Although I'm not sure about the SZ6, I know that the SZ series stays relatively cool - perhaps idling at high 30s or low 40s.

Thank hehe, but I'd like an sz6 owner to report what their temp is for more assurance.

High performance mode, using skype. Not too happy with temps... I'm trying to design a custom cooling mat, although a store-bought one would work as well.

Just got my SZ680 in today :D It passed through a friend of mine who filled the HD up so that it is 90% full already. HD temperature is 36 degrees (about 10 IE windows and for the rest semi-idle).

And its a 7200rpm Hitachi Travelstar drive :)

Seems to run quietly too, I'm happy !!

Will review the rest a little later. Bit too excited about testing out everything now.

those of u with vista and the SZ 6 series, did the dynamic switching from NHC work? my cpu always showed something near max speed, even on battery...

Didn't check with NHC, simply used HD-Tune. Temp's only 34-35 now, and I'm busy downloading a few things.

Btw this SZ runs so so fast :) I was starting to worry about a major clean-up from all those bloatware threads but it seems pretty empty, maybe P1 had already cleaned up some stuff...Also, booting is very very fast, 30 seconds til the password screen, then 5-10 seconds and Windows is fully loaded.

I have a SZ470N and usually it's in the thirties the minute I turn it on. At the moment it's ~ 51C. It's usually a little lower and the range tends to be from 40-50C. I used to own a TZ150N and that was a whole different beast. It would always stick around 55-60C. Yea you didn't ask.

Yes, my NHC's dynamic switching is working. Use the program CPU-Z to check your CPU speed; you'll see it fluctuating.

BTW, Thanks to all who posted their temps so far.
