    Hello,

    I am sorry to be redundant as I am sure this question has been answered before, however I couldn't find an answer in my search.

    Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me only what the extras for each different model of the SZ6. And if possible if anyone can say the benefits of getting the higher models compared to the lower models.

    I am currently considering the 650N/C however I might be tempted to get a higher model number if the extras are worth it.

    In other words. What would be the differences between the SZ650 , 660 , 670, (yes, i know 680 is BTO so no need to explain this one) , 690 , and 691.

    Thank you for your help.

    Well, if I'm not mistaken (and have a good memory :D):

    SZ650N/C - base --> $2049,00
    SZ660N/C - base + wwan --> $2149,00
    SZ670N/C - sz660 + 2.4GHz processor (instead of 2.2) --> $2299,99
    SZ691N/X - sz670 + 200GB HD (4200rpm) + premium carbon casing --> $2699,99

    SZ690 doesn't exist.

    About the benefits, if you don't need the WWAN, stay with the SZ650.

    SZ660, SZ670, and SZ691 have WAN. The SZ691 has the "weave" look carbon lid.

    :cool:

    Thank you very much for this info. Sorry about the 690.. I must have had a brain fart :( . So for the most part all the models are nearly identical?

    Is WWAN really worth it in the long run? I mean if your not always trying to connect on "moble" service provider networks then you really dont need it right? Sorry I dont know a whole lot about WWAN :(

    But really the SZ 660 or the SZ 670 are the prob the best mainstream choices ? since the 160 HD is a hybrid and all your really lacking is the "premium carbon casing" ?

    Anyways I think I will get either the 660or the 670. any ideas if it would run windows ultimate at 64 bit pretty well? or will the sony support be to lousy ?

    becuase the SZ680 is a build to order version (BTO). So there is not much to say about that... I mean you choose the options that you want. However I do believe I heard that the SZ680 does not offer the WWAN option.

    Ok clear.

    Does anyone know if this WWAN can work in Europe?

    PhilFlow, I read somewhere in this forum that if you need to use the WWAN outside the US, you have to ask Sony some kind of code in order to unlock it.

    I guess it works pretty much the same as a simcard in mobile phones. I should work in all gsm networks.

    Has anyone asked about having their internal WWAN card unlocked for international travel?

    Knowing the answer to whether you are able to, and what specifications the internal card has interests me.

    In the specs of the SZ680 it says: Charcoal black carbon fiber casing.

    Does this mean it has the special premium carbon lid?

    If not, what models do?

    Answer by PortableOne.com:

    Only the SZ691 has the fancy weave type pattern all other Premium’s have the standard carbon fiber texture finish.

    The SZ6 series has a Sprint EVDO card inside. That's CDMA, not GSM. It does not use a SIM card, and generally speaking you won't find a lot of CDMA service outside the US (and CA, MX).
