Hello all,
I have a sony SZ650 with Vista business installed. I followed all the details in http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=43865&highlight=widcomm+bluetooth and uninstalled Toshiba BT and installed widcom BT. Now I am stuck at the last stage:
When I enable my BT, and point Vista to the folder where btwusb.inf and the .sys files lie, Vista gives me the following error:
![]()
Note that I have modified the btwusb.inf to contain my SZ650 BT PID and VID.
A copy of my inf file is uploaded here
Can anyone please help? I know it must be a basic error, since the files cannot be found by Vista, even though there are all in the same folder as the inf file.

Thanks - this does not seem to be my problem. Neither of the conditions apply to my case (it is not a file copy error, Vista cannot find the driver in my inf file). It seems I've made an error in the inf file I attached above. I'd appreciate a vista user provide advice on what might be wrong in the inf file.

vista doesn't support widcomm 5 software, that's what i have came to know so far. i haven't tried to install these drivers though

Ok, the root problem I am trying to fix is to make my blackberry desktop manager sync over BT with my blackberry. Using the toshiba drivers, I can connect, but it disconnects as soon as I sync. Has anyone managed to connect their BB to the Sony SZ650 over Vista? If so, how (I searched in the BB forums - and did not find much)
thanks -
Same prob.
Unable to connect Toshiba stack.. I'm try standart Vista "Alps internal Bluetooth" driver to sync over BT with my Jam.. It works..
Hope it helps... -
Reason, can you tell me how you did it ? I removed toshiba BT, then went to device manager, clicked on update driver for the now "unknown" device UGX and associated it with Vista ALPS drivers. The driver installed, but Vista gave me an error that the RFCOM driver could not be installed due to an incompatibility problem. Anyway, after launcing the desktop manager, bluetooth was greyed out

First, I removed toshiba BT, then try "Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator" for unknown device called "UGX".. It's gave me error, then try "Alps Integrated Bluetooth device".. It works..
Now, I'm open device manager, click "Bluetooth Radios" --> there's two device on list 1 - Alps Integrated Bluetooth device, 2 - Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator... Maybe "Microsoft Enumerator" is RFCOM driver ??? and it's in my inf cache because try it first...
Sorry for English..
