I just got the new sz650 n/c. First thing I did was wipe the harddrive clean and put a fresh install of Windows Vista Ultimate. I added all the drivers and the system seems to be running flawlessly, but I have a few questions.

    1. I have the fingerprint driver installed but what software do I use with it to enable my fingerprint to be the password to windows, etc.

    2. How do I use the F keys to adjust britghtness volume etc. I tried holding fn while pressing them but nothing happens.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I also did a clean install of vista on my SZ650. Make sure you download all the drivers from the website, and install the drivers according to sony's guide :
    http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-info.pl?info_id=172
I did it that way, and only the fingerprint and touchpad utilities were missing (the drivers don't work... also note the video suite drivers won't work either).
After that the FN keys should work fine, at least mine do.

I got the driver for the fingerprint off the UPEK website.
I then downloaded the software (Protector suite) from
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=101461

I got the touchpad from www.tinyurl.com/3gs6fg
from the excellent video posted on these forums for the XP installation (gives very good links for drivers). But I did have to manually install the driver for the touchpad

Also make sure you installed the shared library software first before the Notebook Control Utilities.
