I have had my 270 for four weeks now and love it. But of course I notice a bunch of Sony software that I don't think I need. But before I decide to uninstall can people give me hints as to what to keep and what is useless?
    - SonicState? is this the same thing as Itunes. Getting ipod for christmas. Should I dump or keep?
    - Vaio Media? What is this? And why does it load on start-up? Something I need to check out or is this a waste of space?
    - Vaio Wireless utility? I have Verizon pc card what is great. I turn on the wifi when I want to use wifi. And at home w/ my network I plug in my network cable. I currently do not have wifi on my network hub at home. Not sure if I need it as of yet since I have verizon pc card.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I got rid of all of the Sony bloatware except Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Album when I did a clean re-install. Sonicstage is a rather clunky attempt to do something similar to iTunes. I think you'd be much better off simply using iTunes, which you'll have to with your iPod anyway. VAIO Media is Sony's version of a Media Center type application and it is not a very good one.

I'd just do a clean reinstall.

VAIO Wireless Utility is the software control (or switch) for the built-in wireless and BT. It's the small tray icon that either has a blue "B" or green "wlan B". You might want to keep it in the system if you plan to use one of the functions.
