Anyone have any ideas about WHY my processor is always stuck on 595Mhz? I have the 1Gb of memory set to run at 333 and also have the processor set to "performance" when plugged in, but it always runs at 595, even when I have it "loaded up".....

It's a Windows (maybe in conjunction with Sony software) stupidity - if you turn on the laptop using battery, it's always going to tell you 598 MHz and no more. Use MobileMeter to see the actual speed of your processor.

Thanks, Shade, but it STILL starts up at 595 and stays there. I just switched power management back to "adaptive" to see if I can get my 1.2mhz back. It used to vary more when I had that selected instead of the "performance" setting......?

I'm not sure, but I think the processor should automatically speed up when the extra power is needed.

For adaptive, it will not go beyond 598 MHz unless you are doing something demanding. The only thing I can think of is some power management sub-options were not turned on correctly or there is something in ULV CPU that will just not run 1.2 GHz unless it has to. Not sure about either one, though, since I don't have a T. Might want to check the forum at Sony TR World. Good luck.[ ;)]
