I'm getting my Sony TT upgraded. I bought a model that came without built in WWAN. This upgrade has been tested as working by others so nothing really can go wrong for me and i'm not doing the upgrade myself.
I have all the parts bar the wwan module. I believe that that the Sony TT uses a GTM382W card MO0402 that supports band 850mhz, 1900 and 2100.
This can be used anywhere in the world. The 850mhz/1900mhz band is used mainly in North America and Australia. The 2100mhz band is used a lot in the UK and so is the 900mhz band which this does not support.
I have seen some GTM328E MO0401 cards on ebay. These are EU models that support band 900mhz and 2100mhz. I'm a little sceptical about getting this because if i travel it looks like i cannot use this in North America. I've read some people only got Edge speeds on the 2100mhz band in the US which is really no good to me.
Has anyone done this upgrade and did you use any other card and did it work?
I'm thinking of getting another card all together that will speed things up for me and a card that also supports the same bands as the MO0402 but i'm concerned that it may be locked at the BIOS. I wouldn't mind a Gobi WWAN card. I have also been looking at getting a GTM380 as that supports the same bands as the GTM328W. I have a GTM378E in my SZ.
What do you think? Or should i just a GTM328E and be done with it?

I think i am going to buy this card, does anyone have any thoughts on it? I see that some Sony models use a UNDP-1 one card, is it the same as this Gobi card? I need to be sure about what i'm buying.

This card is better than the 382W used in some TT models.
